There is no messy wiring involved!
The base of the switch is more of a holder of the switch/remote. A nice and convenient way to keep track of the switch/remote.
You can mount the switch in one of three ways:
- With the provided 3M tape (please ensure the surface is clean and dry before mounting)
- With the magnet on the back of the wall mount; simply attach the magnet to any metal surface with magnetic properties (ferromagnetic metals)
- With screws by removing the back plate and using screws to attach the back plate to a wall; then, reconnect the two parts of the mount.
By keeping the remote part in the mount, you could use it like a digital wall switch.
