Before getting started, do not power the bulbs on first. This may cause them to fall out of their three-minute pairing mode. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi that your hub is on.
Additionally, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- The Sengled Home app is updated to, at least, version 1.1.42; to check your app's version, tap on the "Settings" tab and then tap on "About Sengled".
- Your hub's firmware is updated to, at least, 4.3.9 with coordinator 0.0.5007; this article shows how to do that.
Once you have completed these prerequisites, we can proceed:
Open the Sengled Home app and press the three-dots-in-a-circle symbol located in the top-right of the screen. Then, press “Add Device”.
From here, press “Smart LEDs”, please.
Now, a page will pop-up asking you to confirm you have the Smart LED bulbs which require a hub in order to be used.
Read the instructions on the pop-up and, only after you have confirmed the bulb you have meets the criteria shown in the app, press "Confirm".
Now, select the hub you wish to add the bulb to and press “Next”.
In the provided example, there is only one hub associated with the account.
From here, power the bulb(s) on.
Note: The Sengled Smart LED Tunable White bulbs are compatible with certain dimmer switches; to see the list of dimmer switches the Sengled Smart LED Tunable White bulbs can be used on, please visit this link.
Furthermore, these bulbs, like most LED bulbs, are not designed to be used on 3-way lamps or ceiling fan fixtures as those fixtures are wired as dimmers.
Additionally, the Smart LED Tunable White bulbs, like almost all LED bulbs, are not meant to be used in fully-enclosed fixtures.
Lastly, the Tunable White bulbs are not meant to be used outdoors or in restroom due to humidity concerns.
Once the bulb(s) are powered on, press "Next". Now, the hub will search for the bulb(s).
Note: If your bulbs were powered on previously for more than three minutes, you would want to: power your bulbs off, wait at least 15 seconds, power your bulbs on, and then press "Next" to proceed.
Once the bulb(s) are found, they will flash three times and appear on the screen.
Once the Sengled Home app has indicated it has found all of your bulb(s), press "Next".
In this case, we were only adding one bulb, so we pressed "Next" after it was found.
From here, the bulb will be added to your hub.
Now the bulb will proceed to add to your hub. After the bulb has been added to your hub, you will see a checkmark that says “Success” next to your bulb. Press “Next” to proceed.
Once you are on the “Congratulations” screen, you can assign a bulb to a room.
To identify which bulb you are assigning to a room, press the power button a few times until you can see the physical bulb, not the icon representation in the app, power off/on.
Once you know which bulb you are assigning to a room, we can assign the bulb to a pre-existing room by scrolling rightward on the “Assign the device to a room bar” or a new room by pressing “Add Room”.
In the provided example, the bulb is set to be assigned to the “Bedroom” by default.
However, that bulb is physically in the kitchen. Because the bulb is physically in the kitchen, we will assign it to the “Kitchen” room in the Sengled Home app.
By tapping on “Add Room” in the Sengled Home app, we can assign it to the Kitchen by tapping on "Kitchen".
If you wish to assign the bulb to a different room, you can type in a custom room name where the name of the room appears under the “Add a New Room” screen.
Since this is the first bulb assigned to the “Kitchen”, it will have the default name of “Kitchen Bulb 1”; you can alter the name by tapping on the default name and writing in a new name.
Once the bulb is named to your satisfaction, press “Done”.
The room information will be refreshed, you will be directed to the “Home” page and you can proceed to control the Smart LED Tunable White bulb(s) that you have added to your hub.
