Before getting started, do not power the bulbs on. This may cause them to fall out of their three-minute pairing mode. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi that your hub is on.
Open the Sengled Home app and press the three dots in a circle icon located at the top-right of the screen. Then, press “Add Device”.
From here, press “Smart LED Light”, then select the hub you wish to add the bulb to and press “Next”. In the provided example, there is only one hub associated with the account.
Now, press “Scan Code” to bring up the QR code scanner. This will allow us to scan the QR code on the bulb itself.
When scanning the QR code, hold your phone in one hand and the bulb in the other. Try to scan in a well-lit area. The bulb’s QR code should be about six inches to one foot away from the scanner. The camera will auto-focus in on the QR code and scan it automatically.
If you need more light, feel free to press the flashlight button below the QR code scanner. If you are having trouble scanning the QR code, you can press “Enter MAC Address” located on the bottom of the QR code scanning screen.
After you have scanned the QR code of the bulb, you will be on a screen that shows you a picture of the bulb, the model number of the bulb and the MAC/ZID number of the bulb. If you have another bulb to add, press “Scan Another One”; if not, press “Next”.
From here, you would screw the bulbs into the location you want to use them in and power them on.
Please note that Sengled Smart LED Multicolor bulbs cannot be used on dimmer switches. This would include wall dimmers, ceiling fan fixtures and 3-way lamps (lamps with low, medium and high power settings built-in).
Furthermore, the Smart LED Multicolor bulbs are not meant to be used in fully-enclosed fixtures. Additionally, the Multicolor bulbs are not meant to be used outdoors.
After the bulb(s) are powered on, press “Next” on the “Turn on your Lights” screen.
The Element Color Plus bulb will now add to your hub. This could, at most, take up to three minutes.
After the bulb has been added to your hub, you will see a checkmark that says “Success” next to your bulb. Press “Next” to proceed.
Once you are on the “Congratulations” screen, you can assign a bulb to a room. To visually identify which bulb you are assigning to a room, press the power button a few times until you can visually tell which bulb you are about to assign to a room in the Sengled Home app.
Then, we can assign the bulb to a pre-existing room by scrolling rightward on the “Assign the device to a room bar” or a new room by pressing “Add Room”.
We choose to create a new room in the Sengled Home app for our new Element Color Plus bulb by tapping on “Add Room”.
In the provided example, we are going to assign the bulb to a new room. Press the bar that says, “room name” and type in a desired room name. In this example, we chose to name the room “Family Room”.
After the room is named, press “OK”.
Since this is the first bulb assigned to the “Family Room” it will have the default name of “Family Room Bulb 1”; you can alter the name by tapping on the default name and writing in a new name.
Once the bulb is named to your satisfaction, press “Done”. The room information will be refreshed, you will be directed to the “Home” page and you can proceed to control the Sengled Smart LED Multicolor bulb(s) that you have added to your hub.
