Before getting started, do not power the bulbs on first. This may cause them to fall out of their three-minute pairing mode. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi that your hub is on.
The first thing you would want to do is open the Sengled Home app and press the three dots in a circle icon located at the top-right of the screen. Then, press “Add Device”.
From here, press “Element Bulbs”, then select the hub you wish to add the bulb to and press “Next”. In the provided example, there is only one hub associated with the account—therefore we press next on the “We found 1 hub…” screen.
Now, press “Scan Code” to bring up the QR code scanner. This will allow us to scan the QR code on the bulb itself.
When scanning the QR code, hold the bulb still and scan in a well-lit area. The bulb’s QR code should be about six inches to one foot away from the scanner. The camera will auto-focus in on the QR code and scan it automatically.
If you need more light, press the flashlight button below the QR code scanner. If you are having trouble scanning the QR code, you can press “Enter MAC Address” located on the bottom of the QR code scanning screen.
After scanning the QR code of the Element Plus bulb, you will be redirected to a screen that shows the MAC/ZID of the bulb. At the bottom of the screen, you will be asked to pick the M/N (Model Number) of the bulb.
Ensure that the model number matches the one on the bulb. It is critical the model number is accurate. If you are in North America, you would choose the option “Z01-A19NAE26”
After selecting the right model number (as demonstrated by the second screenshot below), press “Next”.
From here, you will be on a screen that will ask you to “Scan Another One” or press “Next” to proceed. In the provided example, we are going to press “Next” to proceed but if you have more Element bulb you would like to add, press “Scan Another One’ and utilize the same steps for scanning an Element bulb.
After pressing “Next”, power on your bulb(s) and press “Next” again on the “Turn on your lights” screen.
Now the bulb will proceed to add to your hub. After the bulb has been added to your hub, you will see a checkmark that says “Success” next to your bulb. Press “Next” to proceed.
Once you are on the “Congratulations” screen, you can assign a bulb to a room. To visually identify which bulb you are assigning to a room, press the power button a few times until you can visually tell which bulb you are about to assign to a room in the Sengled Home app.
In the provided example, the bulb is set to be assigned to the “Living Room” by default. However, that bulb is physically in the kitchen and that is the room we want to assign it to.
By tapping on “Add Room” in the Sengled Home app, we can assign it to the Kitchen.
If you wish to assign the bulb to a different room, you can type in a custom room name where the name of the room appears under the “Add a New Room” screen.
Once you are done, press “Done”
Since this is the first bulb assigned to the “Kitchen” it will have the default name of “Kitchen Bulb 1”; you can alter the name by tapping on the default name and writing in a new name.
Once the bulb is named to your satisfaction, press “Done”. The room information will be refreshed, you will be directed to the “Home” screen and you can proceed to control the Element Plus bulb(s) that you have added to your hub.
