How do I integrate Element with Amazon Echo Plus?

Using Element Bulbs With Amazon Echo Plus

 Set Up Your Echo Plus

To get started with Echo Plus, place your device in a central location (at least eight inches (20 centimetres) from any walls and windows and six feet (two metres) from your Wi-Fi router).

  1. Download the Alexa app and sign in.
    • Android 5.0 or higher
    • iOS 9.0 or higher

  1. Turn on Echo Plus.

Plug the included power adapter into Echo Plus and then into a power outlet. The light ring on Echo Plus turns blue, and then orange. When the light turns orange, Alexa greets you.

  1. Connect Echo Plus to a Wi-Fi network.

Follow the guided instructions in the app to connect Echo Plus to a Wi-Fi network.

Tip: If your Echo Plus doesn't connect to your Wi-Fi network, unplug and then plug the device into a power outlet to restart it. If you still have trouble, reset your Echo Plus to its factory settings and set it up again.

  1. Adding Element Bulbs

Plug the Element bulbs in to outlet and turn them ON.  In the Amazon Alexa App you would click on the 3 lines next to Home.  Click on Smart Home and go to Add Device, the search should find the bulbs that are plugged in and turned on.

IF Amazon Echo Plus Hub does not find the bulbs re-initiate pairing mode, reset the bulb.

To physically reset the device:

  • Beginning with the bulb ON, quickly turn the bulb OFF and ON 10 times in quick succession (using a light switch or power strip works best)
  • The bulb will blink 5 times when it has successfully reset

     5. Setting Scenes and Devices

Once bulbs are found and you setup groups you will be able to voice control the bulbs.

(AS A NOTE YOU CAN ALSO USE THE SNAP CAMERA with the app to turn off the LIGHT BY VOICE COMMAND)

  1. Talk to Alexa.

You can now use your Echo device. To get started, say the "wake word" and then speak naturally to Alexa. Your Echo device is set to respond to the wake word "Alexa “
