Note: Before getting started, you will need to have a Sengled Hub setup with the Sengled Home app.
Before getting started, do not power the bulbs on first. This may cause them to fall out of their three-minute pairing mode. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi that your hub is on.
With this method, we will choose the hub that the device is going to be added to first.
First, navigate to the “Devices” tab is located at the bottom of the “Home” page. Tap “Devices” then you will be on the “Devices” page. From here, tap on the icon of the hub to which you wish to add a device. Since this account only has one hub associated with it, we would just tap it.
This will take you to a page that bares the hub’s name at the top.
From here, press “Add Sub Devices” to add a device.
This will bring up the “Locate the QR Code” screen. Scan the QR code on the bulb. Tap on “Scan Code” to bring up the QR code scanner.
Scan the QR code of the device. Once the QR code is scanned, the Sengled Home app will proceed to the next step.
Note: The screenshot of the Sengled Home app scanning the QR code of the Element Touch bulb was taken moments before it scanned. This is a fine example of how the QR code does not need to encompass a large area on the scanner.
Since this is an Element Touch bulb, we will have to select the correct model number. The screenshot to the left is the default model number, In the case of the correct model number, which is listed on the bulb, is “Z01-CIA19NAE26”. Tap the correct model number, which is at the top of the list.
The screenshot on the right shows the correct model number has been selected. Once that is done, press “Next”.
Now, you can see the device you scanned. To add another device, press “Scan Another One”.
Once you have scanned all the devices you wished to add, press “Next”.
At this point, you will be on the “Turn on Your Lights” page. Power on the device. Once it is on, press “Next”.
From here, the scanned device(s) will add to your hub. They will flash three times during this process to indicate they are being added to your hub.
Once added to your hub, you will see a green checkmark next to the device(s). Press “Next” to proceed.
Now, you will be on a page that says “Congratulations!” Assign the bulb to a room and press “Done”..
In this example, we scrolled right on this page to see the available rooms. We tap on “Living Room” to assign the device to the “Living Room”; then we pressed “Done”.
