There are 2 methods for resetting the Sengled Z-Wave bulb. We have those listed for you below!
Method 1: Using Exclusion to remove the bulb from your app, turn the bulb on, and initiate Exclusion, or rather, delete the bulb from your hub (consult your hub manufacturer for further details on how to access Exclusion, if necessary).
Power cycle the bulb once and keep it on. Your bulb will flash 3 times and unpair from your Hub, but may still have a device entry. If this occurs, follow the instructions of your Hub to remove this entry and prevent non-responsive device errors.
The bulb will remain in pairing mode for one minute, after which you may need to use the factory reset instructions below to restore the bulb to pairing mode.
To perform a factory reset first check the following:
- Verify that the bulb is in a powered socket.
- Verify that is it in a compatible fixture. Sengled Z-Wave bulbs, like most LED bulbs, cannot be used on dimmer switches such as wall dimmers, ceiling fan fixtures or 3-way lamps.
- Furthermore, Sengled Z-Wave bulbs, like almost all LED bulbs, cannot be used in fully-enclosed fixtures.
- Due to humidity concerns, the Sengled Z-Wave bulbs are not meant to be used outdoors or in restrooms.
To reset a Sengled Z-Wave bulb, start with the bulb in the on position. Turn it off/on five times in quick succession where off/on counts as one time. If done properly, the bulb will flash seven times.
It is very similar to resetting the Sengled Wi-Fi bulbs; the difference being the Sengled Smart Wi-Fi LED bulbs will only flash three times when reset correctly.
For the purposes of seeing the rapid on/off 5 times cycle, you may review this video on how to reset the Sengled Wi-Fi bulbs here as it is the same protocol and the only difference is the confirmation flashes: Wi-Fi Bulb Reset Protocol, same as Z-Wave bulb
