1) Confirm the Model Number (M/N):
First, we must determine if the bulb is a Sengled Smart LED (ZigBee) bulb.
Below is an example photo of where the bulb's model number (M/N) information can be found:
If the model number (M/N) of the bulb starts with an E or a Z, see if it is one of the following bulbs:
E11-G13 | E11-N13 | E12-N14 |
E11-G14 | E11-N14 | E12-N1E |
E11-N1EA | E13-N11 | E1F-N5E |
E21-N1EA | E11-N1G | |
Z01-A19NAE26 | ||
Z01-CIA19NAE26 |
If it is, then the bulb is a ZigBee bulb and can be added to a Sengled hub using the Sengled Home app.

2) Use Conditions:
Before getting started, do not power the bulbs on. This may cause them to fall out of their three-minute pairing mode. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi that your hub is on; your hub should be connected to the router-in-question—usually via Ethernet cord.
Additionally, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- The Sengled Home app is updated to, at least, version 1.1.42; to check your app's version, tap on the "Settings" tab and then tap on "About Sengled".
- Your hub's firmware is up-to-date; this article shows how to do that.
Once you have completed these prerequisites, we can proceed:

3) Adding:
Open the Sengled Home app; press the three dots in the circle in the top right corner. Then, press “Add Device”.
From here, press “Smart LEDs and Accessories”, please.
Now, a page will pop-up asking you to confirm you have the Smart LED bulbs which require a hub in order to be used.
Read the instructions on the pop-up and, only after you have confirmed the bulb you have meets the criteria shown in the app, press "Confirm".
Now, select the hub you wish to add the bulb to and press “Next”.
In the provided example, there is only one hub associated with the account.
From here, power the bulb(s) on.

Note:
Our Smart LED bulbs—like most LED bulbs—are not meant to be used in the following conditions:
Wall dimmers—with the sole exception of the Tunable White bulbs (Z01-A19NAE26).
Ceiling fan fixtures
Lamp with multiple power settings (i.e. a low/high power lamp, a low/medium/high power lamp—a 3-way lamp—or a dimmer lamp)
Enclosed fixtures
Outdoors—with the sole exception of the Sengled Smart LED with Motion Sensor PAR38 Bulb (E13-N11).

Once the bulb(s) are powered on, press "Next". Now, the hub will search for the bulb(s).
Note: If your bulbs were powered on previously for more than three minutes, you would want to: power your bulbs off, wait at least 15 seconds, power your bulbs on, and then press "Next" to proceed.
Once the bulb(s) are found, they will flash three times and appear on the screen. Once the Sengled Home app has indicated it has found all of your bulb(s), press "Next". In this case, we were only adding one bulb, so we pressed "Next" after it was found.
From here, the bulb will be added to your hub.
Once added to your hub, you will see a green checkmark next to the bulb. Press “Next” to proceed.
Once you are on the “Congratulations” screen, you can assign bulbs to a room. To visually identify which bulb you are assigning to a room, press the power button a few times until you can visually tell which bulb you are about to assign to a room in the Sengled Home app.
The rest of the examples will show the various ways to assign a bulb to a room.
In the provided example, the “Bedroom” room is selected by default; this is why the bulb is named “Bedroom Bulb 3”.
Assign the bulb to the room which corresponds to where the bulb will be used.
Below “1. Assign the device to a room”, we can choose to assign the bulb to a room that already exists in the Sengled Home app. For example, by tapping on “Living Room” the bulb will automatically be assigned to the living room; the bulb will be renamed “Living Room Bulb 1”.
To see the available rooms, scroll right and left. In the following example, we scrolled rightward to see the available rooms.
We tapped on “Office” to assign the bulb to the office in the Sengled Home app.
If you do not see the room you wish to assign the bulb to, tap on “Add Room”.
On the “Add a New Room” pop-up, you can tap on “room name” to create a room.
In the provided example, we named the room “Hallway”. After that, we pressed “OK”.
Once the bulb is assigned to the room which corresponds to the room the bulb will be used in, press “Done”.
